FAQ
Place 3-4 seeds in each grow sponge and fill the hydroponic tank up to just below the tip of the water pump aerator. Pour a little water overtop of the seeds and cover them with the grow domes, leave the lights off until the seed germinates and starts to grow. Once the plant has sprouted remove the grow dome and set the timer on the system for the lights to automatically turn on and off each day!
There are a few reasons why the seeds could look moldy, the first is that there were too many seeds in the grow sponge. There should be slight separation to allow air around each seed. The second is that the sponge is too wet. The third is you may have bad seeds.
If after 2 weeks the seeds haven't germinated, remove the seeds and put a couple of new seeds in the sponge and try again!
You should change the water about every 30 days. This can be done relatively easily, have someone hold the plant tray over the sink while you dump the water and rinse out the tank and water pump. Be careful not to get water into the LED fixture location if you removed the LED lights while doing a water change. Be careful not to get water into the water pump or power plug holes on the back as well.
There are slow release nutrients in the bottom of each grow sponge, this nutrients is enough for about 60 days. After that you should start adding some plant food to the tank, look for plant food specific to hydroponic systems that can be mixed with water. Assume there is about 5L of water in the tank since it's a 7L tank.
